Te Reo Maori Shopping list.


 We were learning about Te Reo Maori and the names of different groceries.

I found it easy to find the Maori words and write them in my shopping list.

I found it hard to find a few Maori words because I don't speak Maori.

Next time I need to learn to say the words so when I go shopping with my mum I can say what we need.

Something Vanished.

 

His eyebrows decreased into a V when he looked at his dog because his dog looked questionable. 


He had his arms clenched on his hips, looking down at his hound.


When he communicated to his dog and his voice was like a lion roaring at his prey.


We were learning about how to use inferences and fantastic words to write about the feelings of a character using Show Don´t Tell.

I found it easy to look at the picture and write about what is happening.

I really enjoyed typing up different words to put in my writing.

Next time I need to try and add more detailed vocabulary about the actions.

Timo's shorts


WALT  make inferences about a characters feeling in a book

Timo was worried about his shorts being lost forever. He was frustrated. He thought about what his Mum would say.

He didn´t want to disappoint his Mum.


Timo was thinking extremely hard. He closed his eyes to try and remember where he last was with his shorts.


He was rubbing his head to massage it to draw out his thoughts.


I was learning about how to look for feelings in a book.
I really enjoyed writing a sentence about the 
character´s feelings.

He aha Tenei



This is my te reo that I have been working on.
There might be some sentences you might not understand, so I put in a recording to help you with the sentences.

We were learning about He aha tenei/what is this.

I found it easy to record because I knew how to say the sentences.

I found it hard to record some of it because it was too loud, so I found a quiet space.

Next time I need to learn more te reo so I can say the nouns and verbs better.

First we had to look for the pictures.

After that we had to practice saying them so we know them off by heart.

Then we had to do the hardest part which was the recording.

I learned what makes a Quality blog comment to post on someones blog and it has to be positive helpful and we had to ask a Question.
I found it easy to find a post to what comment on.
I enjoyed writing about the post because it made me hungry.
Next Time I need to try and add more information about Room 5's blog post.

Basic Fact Maths


Today my class had to do a maths test and at the end when you mark it you get a Certificate to show you what your percent is and how long it took you to finish.
As you can see it took me 29 minutes and 37 seconds it was hard because it was stage 7 and I am only on stage 6.

We were learning about Basic facts maths

I found it easy to solve some of them.

I found it hard to do the question that said make 60% into a fraction.

I really enjoyed answering the easy questions like the square root of 81 which is 9.

Next time I need to learn more about maths so when I do the test again I can get 100%

My Digital Day


We are learning about how we advertise ourselves online.
We talked about only posting things online that keep us safe.We learned how tagging photos and posts make it easier to find out about someone,so we need to be careful about our posts content.
We created a DLO showing our Digital Day.

The first  thing I did was I had to go to google and do Ctrl-H so I can go to my History to see what I was on.
The next thing I did was I had to look for the icon for the sites and pages that I have been on.
After that I had to put them on this google drawing in the order that I visited them.

We are learning about a Digital Day.
I found it hard to find some of the icons.
I found it easy to find the normal icons because I go on some of the icon every day.
I really enjoyed doing the pattern because it looks like a koru pattern.
Next time I need to make so it is easier for the teacher to see which way my Digital footprints are going.

Why should recess go for a longer period of time

We are learning to write a persuasive writing with fascinating language features in it, it was about if Recess should go for longer or not.

We had to try and make our writing inspiring.

I found it easy to know what reasons to write about in my writing.

I found it hard to think of information to back up my reasons that I thought of.

I really enjoyed writing about how long the teachers get off of Duty.

Next time I need to think of more information to back up reasons.

I think that recess should not go for a longer period of time.


It is clear that recess should not go for a long period of time. It should not go for longer because there is too much fighting on the park, there would be less time to learn, and most of the teachers would not get a break.


To start off with, recess should not go longer because there is too much fighting on the park because when we play on the park we run around and hit into each other. When we hit them they get mad and start fighting and that is my first reason why recess should not go longer. So basically we can´t control ourselves on the park.


Secondly, there would be less time to learn. If we don´t learn when we grow up we would be dumb and we would not have a job and we´d have no money to buy food and to buy a house. So that is why we should have a good education.


Finally why playtime should not go for a longer period of time because the teachers on duty would not get A break because they would have to look after the kids when they play and the teachers would need to do there work like mark the students math test and other stuff  that the teachers teach the kids.


As a result recess should not go longer because the teachers would not get A break and because there is too much fighting on the park and there would be less time to learn.

T-shaped literacy


This slide is my T-shaped literacy that my class has been doing for this week and I was the first one to finish all of it.
We were learning about some texts and two poems.
I found it easy locate the language features in some of the poems. The ones I found were verbs,Noun,Adverb and Adjectives.
I really enjoyed highlighting the language features because the colours looked cool.
Next time I need to try and find more language features like metaphors,similes and maybe some Onomatopoeia.

Mymaps:Nga Awa

 

In my class we had to look for some awa close to where we are. We used Mymaps to create a map. On my 
map I inserted some images on the pins of where the awa are located.
We were learning about our local rivers and waterways.
I found it hard to locate the awa that I wanted to see which was Taheke.
I found it easy to locate my awa on my pepeha.
I really enjoyed locating the awa on mymaps.
Next time I need to locate some information and put it on the pins and some videos.

I found it easy to find and write the information.

We are learning about our digital footprint.
We talked about private and public infomation.
I learned that if you show your birthday someone can get alot of infomation off of it.
I already knew that you should not tell a stranger your address.

We were learning about our digital footprint.

I found it easy to highlight the information that you are allowed to share and information that we are not allowed to share.

I really enjoyed highlighting the information.

Blake NZ VR

last term Blake NZ visited.We learned about marine Reserves.
We were able to use VR sets to explore the oceans.
I found it easy to learn about how many percent of the worlds oceans are protected.

We were learning about Blake NZ-VR.

I found it easy to make the slide show.

I found it hard to find information.

I really enjoyed the VR head sets.

Next time I need to work faster on the slide show.

Clickety-Clack Cicada


Clickety-Clack-Cicada written by Jim Brasell.
In this poem we looked for different language features.

We found some like onomatopoeia,verbs,metaphors, and adjectives

For example: 
Clickety clack cicada is onomatopoeia. 
Cling is a verb.
 Noisy and shining are adjectives.

For sleeping the author used a metaphor to compare sleeping to night time.

I found it easy to pinpoint the different language features.

I found it hard to know what word was a language feature and which one was not.

I really enjoyed learning about different language features like onomatopoeia metaphors and adjectives.

Next time I need to try and add different language features like similes,nouns,pronouns,and adverbs.

The Loaves
We are learning about metaphors.
A metaphor compares 2 different things.
In this poem  the author used metaphor to compare bread to clouds.

I found it simple to locate most of the language features. 

I found it frustrating to locate the Metaphor in the poem. 

I really enjoyed coloring the patterns I did for my border.

Next time I could try and use metaphors in my own writing.

We were learning about our pepeha so we would remember it when we say our mihi.

I found it easy to recored me reading my pepeha.

I found it hard to put each voies record on it.

I really enjoyed using this app called Remove.Bg to remove the backround.

Next time I need to make the shapes smaller so I can fit more.
